Day 1 : Departure from Marrakech to Zagora
Your journey begins with a departure from Marrakech, traveling through the scenic Atlas Mountains. The first stop will be at Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where you can explore the ancient kasbahs. This site is known for its picturesque mud-brick buildings and has appeared in several famous movies.
Afterward, head towards Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert,” and continue your way to Zagora. Upon arrival, take a camel ride into the desert to experience the stunning sunset over the golden dunes.
That evening, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and spend the night in a Berber desert camp, where you’ll sleep under the stars, surrounded by the serene desert atmosphere. -
Day 2 : Explore Oases and Kasbahs near Zagora
After a peaceful night in the desert, you’ll have a hearty breakfast before heading out to explore the Foum Zguid Oasis and the Tamnougalt Kasbah, famous for its mudbrick architecture. These historical sites offer a glimpse into the traditional desert life. The landscapes are dramatic, with vast desert vistas and green oases that seem to appear out of nowhere.
Continue to Zagora, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet local Berber people and learn about their way of life. In the evening, return to the camp for another night in the desert, followed by a traditional Moroccan feast. -
Day 3 : Return to Marrakech
After breakfast, head back to Marrakech. On your way, stop in Ouarzazate to visit the famous Atlas Film Studios, where many blockbuster films have been made. Finally, drive through the Atlas Mountains, taking in breathtaking views before returning to Marrakech by evening.
